During a PRP treatment, a small amount of blood is drawn and then spun in a centrifuge to isolate the platelets and plasma from the other cells. The PRP is then injected into the areas where you desire rejuvenation. Platelet Rich Plasma contains growth factors which give it healing properties. These healing properties are stimulated through contact with collagen or injured tissue, so when PRP is combined with microneedling or laser resurfacing the results are even more impressive*. The platelets help to form a scaffold on which new collagen can be built and the growth factors help to heal and rejuvenate the skin or stimulate hair growth and thickness. Facial PRP injections can improve fine lines, thinning skin and sun damage. PRP improves microcirculation, leading to a decrease in the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. PRP can also be combined with hyaluronic acid fillers (like Restylane or Juvederm) to plump deeper lines and add volume to the face.
Fractional resurfacing is great for anyone who wants younger-looking skin. Ideal candidates for this treatment have sun damage, pigmentation issues, compromised texture, acne scarring, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles.
The most common fillers are Hyaluronic Acid fillers (Restylane and Juvederm). There are several reasons that these fillers are popular, both with patients and with doctors. First, they produce immediate results. It is very easy to see whether you need more filler in each area and to make sure that augmentation is even. Second, they are reversible. If you’ve never done fillers before, it can be very reassuring to know that if you hate it, it can be undone. Hyaluronidase will dissolve away injected fillers within a matter of hours to days.
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers come in a range of different styles; some are thicker for volume or plumping, while others are thinner and more flexible to complement natural expression.
Sculptra (Poly L Lactic Acid) is a collagen stimulator. It does not act as a filler on its own, but rather it causes the production of collagen which essentially is your body’s own filler. The downside of Sculptra is that results take 3 months to fully develop. The upsides are that it lasts longer than most fillers (2 years for most patients) and that you get more “bang for your buck” in terms of volume per dollar.
A fat transfer is a great, cost effective option for many patients. You can get larger volume replacement with fat and the results are essentially permanent. There is no risk for allergic reaction or rejection since the fat comes from your own body. It works well in almost all applications of fillers with the exception of the fine lines and wrinkles. I find that in this instance the smooth gels work much better than the globular fat.
*Fat transfer is ideal for restoring larger volume for the long-run, however our fat cells will continue to respond naturally as they would if they were located anywhere else in the body. Expanding or shrinking with weight.
At Imagen, we use Botox Cosmetic to relax wrinkles caused by the frequent movement of the muscles of facial expression. This results in a more relaxed, stress-free and youthful look. Botox has been used in millions of patients worldwide to treat undesirable frown lines between your brows, forehead wrinkles and to soften crow’s feet around the eyes. But that’s not all it can do! Botox can also be used to soften the jawline, improve a gummy smile or lift the tip of your nose! The treatment helps to minimize lines of expression and therefore can help you to look younger and more refreshed .*
Fillers can help increase the size and shape of the lips, and improve fine lines and wrinkles. The best options for lip fillers are soft, hyaluronic acid fillers, which give augmentation but still feel natural.Learn More
Fractional laser treatment works by removing tiny columns of skin while leaving behind areas of intact skin. The tiny wounds stimulate a healing response, activating collagen production and rejuvenating factors in the skin.Learn More
Often referred to as the "natural filler," Sculptra Aesthetic is a unique injection that stimulates your body's own collagen production. The anti-aging results are both long-lasting and natural looking.Learn More
